Just a quickie today.
I went to play music on my iPod but discovered it needed charging. I’m at work so I don’t have iTunes installed but I do have my cable. I wanted to charge my iPod and listen to music from it. So here is what I had to do.
- Connect the iPod to the PC via the cable
- Go to Explorer and find the iPod. It was listed as removable storeage device
- Right-click on the drive icon and select ‘Eject’
The iPod should shortly stop displaying the ‘Do not disconnect’ warning and return to the main menu.
If you simply select ‘Safely Remove Hardware’ from the tooltray icon you’ll get the iPod menu back but it’ll not continue charging.
I did this with my Mac formatted iPod on a Windows XP machine. I expect that PC formatted iPods will behave the same way.
Yup… Learnt this trick in Vietnam… I don’t like to talk about it… Surrounded by hostiles… iPod (formatted to Windows) needs charged… EJECT!!! EJECT!!! EJECT!!! lol
Great! I also learned this trick on my ipod 🙂 Cool eh?!
